Last week, I went on three listing appointments. Each homeowner asked me the same question: “Should I list now or wait for spring?” Here’s what I told them:
There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Ultimately, it depends on your situation and what’s best for your family.
If you have kids in the school system, for example, it makes more sense to wait until the spring because school won’t end until June. A buyer who would be buying your home will not want to wait until June, however.
Another factor to consider is that you’ll have fewer buyers in winter. At the same time, these buyers tend to be more serious and eager to buy a home, especially if they’re out looking for homes now instead of when it’s warmer in spring.
Also, inventory in our area is still relatively low, leaving buyers with fewer homes to choose between.
Moving is a big decision and the timing can be challenging. If you have any questions about your situation and what’s best for you and your family, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email today. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
