Living In East Freehold VS West Freehold, New Jersey

September 27, 2023 by Melissa DeSantis Leave a Comment

If you’re looking to move to New Jersey, you may find yourself deciding between East vs West Freehold. Although these areas are close to each other, they have some distinct differences. East Freehold has a lot to offer in terms of location, while West Freehold has the advantage of being closer to shopping and entertainment. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at the pros and cons of each area, so you can make an informed decision about which part of town is right for you.

East Freehold Pros

Let’s start with East Freehold. One clear advantage of this area is its location. If you’re looking to travel to New York City, East Freehold is a great choice – it’s close enough to make a day trip or weekend getaway, without being right in the heart of the action. East Freehold is also home to a variety of parks and recreational facilities, which is great for families. In particular, the Monmouth County Fair and local horse and dog shows provide plenty of opportunities for fun activities.

East Freehold Cons

Unfortunately, there are also some downsides to East Freehold. Housing prices tend to skew higher than those in West Freehold, which can make it a less affordable option. Additionally, there are higher taxes associated with living in East Freehold. And while there are some small shops and grocery stores in the area, they may be farther away than you’d like.

West Freehold Pros

Now, let’s talk about West Freehold. One of the biggest advantages of this area is its accessibility to shopping and entertainment options. Whether you’re looking for great restaurants, movie theaters, or theme parks (like Six Flags Great Adventure), you’ll find no shortage of things to do here. Housing prices in West Freehold are also often more reasonable than in the east, and taxes are generally lower.

West Freehold Cons

However, there are some downsides to consider as well. If you’re looking to travel to New York City or northern New Jersey, you’ll face more traffic and a longer commute from West Freehold. There’s also more congestion in this area as a result of all the amenities available. Finally, elementary schools in West Freehold are zoned, which means children may not be able to attend school with their friends depending on where they live.

Ultimately, the choice between West or East Freehold really comes down to personal priorities. If you value location and access to nearby attractions, East Freehold is probably the way to go. But if you’re more focused on affordability and convenience, West Freehold may be your best bet. Regardless of which area you choose, both parts of town have plenty to offer and are great places to raise a family.

Choosing between East Freehold vs West Freehold is a big decision, but it’s one that you can make with confidence by taking the time to consider the pros and cons of each area. Whether you prioritize location, affordability, or amenities, both parts of town offer unique benefits. So take some time to tour each area and talk to locals – I’m confident you’ll find a place you love!
