Are you wondering where you can find a desirable, convenient, and safe place to live in Freehold, New Jersey? In this episode of Monmouth Redefined, I’m going to take you along with me on a neighborhood tour of Raintree.
Raintree’s Housing Options
Raintree is located on the west side of Freehold and is convenient to Route 33, Route 9, and I-95. The Old Oak section is one of the townhome sections within the development. These townhomes were built in the 1980s and vary in square feet, from 1,300 up to about 1,700 or so. They all have small outdoor spaces that can accommodate a barbecue, patio set, or other outdoor pieces.
The patio homes within the development are all two bedrooms, though some of them do have an upstairs loft that can be used as an office, den, or even a third bedroom. The square footage is anywhere from about 1,400 square feet up to about 1,600 square feet. The owners all have their own private outdoor space, and these homes are definitely the most desirable here within Raintree.
Neighborhood Amenities And Location
People like living in Raintree because it is a gated community and is known to be a safe neighborhood. It’s also located on a nine-hole golf course, and within the development is a swimming pool, exercise room, basketball and tennis courts, and paved trails for walking and running. All of these amenities are included within your association fee.
You also don’t have to worry about shoveling when it snows, because the association takes care of the lawn and snow maintenance. Another reason people like living in Raintree is because of the location. You can easily take a quick drive or even a walk to Walgreens, Livoti’s Old World Italian Market, Panera Bread, Dunkin Donuts, and so much more.
It’s also close to Central State Hospital and only about 15 minutes from the Jackson Outlets and Six Flags Great Adventure. There are several restaurants nearby, including Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Moore’s Tavern, and Escondido Mexican Cuisine & Tequila Bar.
Education Opportunities
If you live in Raintree and have children, they will attend West Freehold Elementary School, Barkalow for middle school, and Freehold Township High School for high school. The high school is part of the Freehold Regional High School District and is a wonderful program that offers kids an amazing opportunity.
With this program, kids in 9th through 12th grade have the opportunity to apply for one of the magnet programs. It can be competitive, but if they are accepted, the programs are fabulous. Six towns are part of the district: Freehold Township, the boroughs, Manalapan, Marlboro, and Colts Neck. I can’t say enough about the program and all that it offers.
Home Prices
Now that you know a little bit about Raintree and why it’s so desirable, let’s talk about pricing. If you are looking for a condo in Raintree, it will cost you right around $275,000 up to the low $300,000s price range. However, one did just sell for $360,000.
If you are looking for a townhouse, you are very lucky to purchase one in the mid $300,000 range. Right now, they are selling closer to the high $300,000 range up into the $400,000 price range. As for a patio home, those are selling for about $450,000 or so.
