Today I’m excited to take you on a tour of one of the most desirable and prestigious developments in East Freehold. I’m visiting the Four Maples neighborhood. It’s located in Freehold, New Jersey directly off of Route 79. If you’re unfamiliar with Freehold it may be helpful to explain that there is a West freehold and East Freehold here in Freehold Township.
About the Four Maples Neighborhood
Four Maples is a small development with only about 35 homes. There are only three streets that make up the neighborhood. You have Rustic Way, Crimson Lane and Teal Court. The homes are large, stately colonials, they were built in the mid 1990s by Carlton Homes. The open floor plans have a minimum of four bedrooms, either two or three car garages, and all of the homes here have basements. They raised the square footage of the homes from about 2700 square feet up to 5000 square feet. They are located on oversized lots.
What Sets Them Apart!
One thing that you will notice about Four Maples that is different from surrounding neighborhoods is that not many of the homeowners here put up fences on their property and if they do, it’s typically just around the pool area, not the entire backyard. If you drive through other surrounding communities in the area, you will notice that the fences are usually around the entire backyard, not just the pool area. Each of the homes here really give the wow factor due to the curb appeal and the layout of the neighborhood as a whole.
Schools
Living here in Four Maples your children will attend Applegate Elementary, Eisenhower Middle School and Freehold Borough High School. The Freehold Borough High School is part of the Freehold Regional High School District. This is a highly rated public school district attending to children 9th through 12th grades. It consists of six townships and eight towns. Those are Marlboro, Manalapan, Englishtown, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Colts Neck, Howell Township and Farmingdale.
The district offers the students the opportunity to apply for different specialized magnet programs and international programs. It’s truly an excellent program and offers your child a fantastic educational experience.
Location Is Everything
There are numerous other reasons why people love living here! Because the development is right off Route 79, you have easy access to New York City and the Jersey Shore beaches. The Henry Hudson trail is also close by. This is a 24 mile paved trail that residents can enjoy walking, running and biking on and it’s just very beautiful throughout all the seasons of the year.
If you go north down Route 79 from the development you will find some of the area’s favorite restaurants, Cousins, a seafood restaurant and Osteria, an Italian restaurant. You also have a gym, Dunkin Donuts and a CVS Pharmacy in the same vicinity. If you traveled down Route 79 heading south in the opposite direction, you are only minutes from downtown Freehold, which also offers a selection of excellent restaurants as well as bars and breweries.
Four Maples and Home Pricing
Lastly, residents love living in Four Maples due to the upscale environment and pride of ownership throughout the community. It’s one of those developments here in Freehold that you are proud to call home. Now that you know about the development and what it offers, let’s talk about home prices in Four Maples because this is such a sought after development and a small community. Homes don’t come on the market for sale very often. In the past year, only three homes were sold.
One home that didn’t need updating and work throughout, sold for $830,000. I had a beautiful listing in the development I sold. It was about 2700 square feet, four bedrooms, two and a half baths with a finished basement and an inground pool. That sold for $955,000 and the highest sold this past year was for $1.1 million. That home was a little over 3500 square feet with a finished basement and a pool. As for property taxes, living here, you will pay on the higher side. You can expect to pay between $16,000 to $20,000 a year, depending upon the square footage, updates and amenities the home offers.
If the Four Maples neighborhood is in your budget, it’s definitely a development I recommend exploring for so many reasons. I hope you enjoyed this tour today of the Four Maples development.
