Holmdel is part of Monmouth County, which is the central part of NJ. It is a little over 18 square miles and is about 35 miles South of NYC and 12 miles west of the Jersey Shore.

Commuters driving to Manhattan can access several major highways and bridges. They also have access to the Hazlet train station. Along with the train, there are also buses that run to both Wall Street and Port Authority. Another option, and one that locals love, is the New York Waterway Belford Ferry, which departs from Middletown and is a 42-minute ferry ride to New York City.
Another reason that makes Holmdel such a desirable place to live is the town's offerings. Located right in the heart of Holmdel is the PNC Arts Center, a beautiful amphitheater and venue. Holmdel is also home to Historic Longstreet Farm. The farm is located inside Holmdel Park and has playgrounds, trails, picnic, and fishing areas. Visiting the farm, you will see what life was like in the late 1800s. Fox Hollow Vineyards is a winery within Holmdel owned by 6th-generation farmers. It is located on 94 acres and offers numerous events throughout the year. Another popular destination is Bell Works. Bell Works is the former Bell Labs in Holmdel and was reconstructed and what they now call a metro burb. It's open seven days a week with offices, retail shopping, dining, and numerous events.
Holmdel's public schools are highly rated. Students move through the district's four schools, attending Village Elementary School from prekindergarten through third grade, Indian Hill School from fourth through sixth grade, William R. Satz Middle School for seventh and eighth grades, and Holmdel High School for ninth through 12th grade.
Due to the high-ranking public schools, Holmdel provides an environment conducive to academic values. In addition, Holmdel has a high rate of owner-occupied single-family homes; however, home prices in Holmdel rank among the most expensive in New Jersey.
Throughout the years, Holmdel has become a very desirable place to live, and it is apparent that residents love to call Holmdel home!
